Cancellation policy

Three policies. No surprise fine print.

Every listing on Eventa runs Flexible, Moderate, or Firm — shown up front on the listing itself, not buried in a terms page you find after you've already paid.

The three tiers

Pick a listing, and you already know the deal.

Flexible

Full refund up to 24h before

Cancel any time up to 24 hours before the event and get a full refund. The most forgiving policy on Eventa — best for hosts who can rebook a date quickly.

Moderate

Full refund up to 5 days before

Cancel up to 5 days before the event for a full refund. A balance between flexibility for clients and enough notice for hosts to plan around a change.

Firm

50% refund up to 14 days before

Cancel up to 14 days before the event for a 50% refund. Common for large or highly customized bookings where a host commits significant resources well in advance.

Both sides are protected, either way.

Because host payouts are always held until after the event, a client's refund never depends on chasing money back from someone who's already been paid — it's still sitting with Eventa. That's true no matter which policy is on the listing.

And because every policy is visible on the listing before checkout, there's no gap between what a client expects and what a host committed to — the terms are the same for both sides from the first click.

Common questions

Cancellations, in detail.

Every listing displays its cancellation policy — Flexible, Moderate, or Firm — right on the listing page and again in your booking confirmation, before you pay.

The host, per listing. Different services on the same host account can run different policies — a small consultation might be Flexible while a full-scale venue rental is Firm.

Cancellations made after a policy's refund window has passed aren't eligible for a refund through Eventa. We'd still encourage messaging the host directly — some are willing to work something out, but it isn't guaranteed.

You get a full refund regardless of which policy was on the listing — a host-initiated cancellation is never charged against the client. Since payouts aren't released until after the event, there's nothing to claw back.

Refunds are issued back to your original payment method immediately once approved, though your bank or card issuer may take a few business days to post it.
