Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026

Your trust matters as much on the data side as it does on verification and payments. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Eventa collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, apps, and services (the "Platform"), whether you're browsing as a client or listing as a host.

2. Data we collect

Account information: name, email, phone number, password (stored as a hash, never in plain text), and profile photo if you add one.

Verification data: for hosts, identity documents processed through our payment processor's KYC flow (these are handled by our processor and not stored on Eventa's own servers), plus business documents (registration, licenses, insurance) you upload for review.

Booking and payment data: booking details, messages between clients and hosts, and payment metadata (we never see or store full card numbers — those are handled directly by our payment processor).

Usage data: pages viewed, searches made, device and browser information, and approximate location derived from IP address, collected automatically as you use the Platform.

3. How we use it

  • Operate the marketplace — matching searches to listings, processing bookings and payouts;
  • Verify host identity and business claims, per our Trust & Safety standards;
  • Communicate booking confirmations, receipts, and account notifications;
  • Detect and prevent fraud, duplicate listings, and policy violations;
  • Improve the Platform through aggregated, de-identified usage analysis.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only where necessary to operate the Platform:

  • With the other party to a booking — a client and host can see what's needed to fulfill the booking (name, listing details, messages);
  • With our payment processor, to process payments and payouts, and to run identity verification for hosts;
  • With service providers who help us operate the Platform (hosting, email delivery, customer support tooling), under confidentiality obligations;
  • Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Eventa, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences like language and currency, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how well the Platform works.

6. Data retention

We keep account and booking data for as long as your account is active and for a period afterward to meet legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. Verification documents are retained per the requirements of the jurisdictions we operate in and are never made public.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of this directly from your account settings, or contact us to make a request.

If you're in the European Economic Area or UK, you have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR. If you're a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA. We honor these rights regardless of where you're located.

8. Children's privacy

Eventa isn't directed at anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.

9. International transfers

Eventa operates across multiple countries. Your data may be processed in a country other than the one you live in; where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email before they take effect.
