Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Eventa as a client browsing and booking services, or as a host listing them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Cancellation policy.
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Eventa's website, applications, and services (together, the "Platform"). By creating an account, browsing listings, or booking a service through Eventa, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.
If you're using Eventa on behalf of a business, you're confirming you have the authority to bind that business to these Terms.
2. What Eventa is — and isn't
Eventa is a marketplace that connects clients planning events with independent hosts offering venues, catering, photography, entertainment, security, and related services ("Listings"). Hosts are independent providers, not Eventa employees, contractors, or agents. Eventa is not a party to the service arrangement between a client and a host — we provide the platform, verification, payments infrastructure, and support that makes booking that arrangement possible.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
Account information must be accurate. Impersonating another person or business, or misrepresenting your identity, licensing, or business status, is grounds for suspension or termination.
4. Listings and verification
Hosts must complete Eventa's identity and business verification before a Listing can be published — see our Trust & Safety page for details. Certain categories (currently Security and Catering) require additional category-specific licensing proof.
Hosts are solely responsible for the accuracy of their Listings — pricing, availability, capacity, included services, and any license or permit claims — and for holding any license, permit, or insurance their jurisdiction or category legally requires.
5. Bookings and payments
When you book a Listing, you authorize Eventa (via our payment processor) to charge the displayed price. Prices shown on a Listing are the full price a client pays — Eventa does not add a separate guest-service fee at checkout.
Funds are held by Eventa and released to the host after the event date has passed, not at the time of booking. This is a core safeguard for clients and is described further in our Trust & Safety page.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Each Listing displays one of three cancellation policies — Flexible, Moderate, or Firm — set by the host. Refund eligibility depends on which policy applies and when a cancellation is made. Full details are on our Cancellation policy page, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Circumvent the Platform to pay or be paid outside Eventa for a booking initiated through Eventa;
- Upload content you don't have the rights to, including another host's photos or portfolio;
- Submit false, forged, or altered verification documents;
- Harass, discriminate against, or threaten another user;
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, listing descriptions, reviews, messages). By uploading it, you grant Eventa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating and promoting the Platform.
9. Disclaimers
Eventa verifies hosts to the standard described in our Trust & Safety page, but we do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any Listing or the conduct of any host or client. The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Eventa's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will not exceed the amount you paid to Eventa in the twelve months before the claim arose. Eventa is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of the Platform will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting Eventa support.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
